Home Run Predictions Today: Friday, March 27
- Los Angeles Dodgers 1B Freddie Freeman vs. Arizona Diamondbacks (+420)
Who Will Hit a Home Run Today?
I’m predicting Los Angeles Dodgers first baseman Freddie Freeman will hit a home run on Friday night against the Arizona Diamondbacks.
As mentioned in today’s MLB predictions column, I like the over in tonight’s Diamondbacks vs. Dodgers matchup. There were 10 runs and three homers in Thursday’s season opener at Dodger Stadium.
Freeman, who went 0-for-4 with one walk, wasn’t responsible for one of the three home runs. But he did square up on the ball, posting an exit velocity of 101.2 miles per hour or higher in two of his trips to the plate. He hit a flyout that would have been a homer in 23 of 30 ballparks, according to Baseball Savant.
The weather doesn’t appear to have much impact tonight, with temperatures in the Los Angeles area in the high 60s and the wind blowing out to the right at roughly 7 miles per hour. But that bodes well for a consistent hitter like Freeman.
I’d back Freeman’s home run odds at +400 or better in a game where the Dodgers should have no problem scoring plenty of runs.
