Home Run Predictions Today: Tuesday, May 12
- St. Louis Cardinals RF Jordan Walker vs. Athletics
Who Will Hit a Home Run Today?
I’m predicting St. Louis Cardinals right fielder Jordan Walker will hit a home run on Tuesday against the Athletics in Sacramento.
Walker is having a breakout season for a Cardinals team that has been better than expected. Walker, 23, has hit 11 home runs through 24 games of his fourth MLB campaign. His current high for homers in a year is 16 during his rookie season in 2023.
Walker’s 11th home run came in Sunday’s loss to the San Diego Padres. Walker now has a 169 wRC+ with a .578 slugging percentage. His average bat speed of 78.7 miles per hour ranks in the 100th percentile.
I’m expecting Walker to stay hot in this week’s series against the Athletics at Sutter Health Park. According to Ballpark Pal’s model, there is a 31% potential increase in home runs with the wind blowing out to left field.
Of Walker’s 11 home runs this year, eight have been hit toward left. That sets up a great situation against left-handed pitcher Jeffrey Springs, who has surrendered seven home runs in eight starts.
I’d back Walker to hit a home run at +350 or better on Tuesday.
