The Seattle Mariners can advance to the ALCS for the first time since 2001 by winning Game 4 of the ALDS against the Detroit Tigers. First pitch is 3:08 p.m. ET on Wednesday at Comerica Ballpark on FS1.
Seattle grabbed a 2-1 series lead with its 8-4 victory in Detroit on Tuesday night. Logan Gilbert earned the win, pitching six innings of one-run ball. Eugenio Suárez, J.P. Crawford, and Cal Raleigh all homered for the Mariners.
Detroit opened as a short favorite to force a Game 5, but the latest odds suggest a coin-flip matchup. Casey Mize (14-6, 3.87 ERA) will start for the Tigers, while Bryce Miller (4-6, 5.68 ERA) gets the ball for the Mariners.

My favorite Mariners vs. Tigers prediction for Game 4 of the ALDS suggests backing the over on Bryce Miller’s strikeout prop (3.5) on Wednesday.
Miller didn’t have the season he was hoping for in Seattle. After posting a 2.94 ERA in 31 starts last year, Miller dealt with an elbow issue and posted a 5.68 ERA in 18 starts.
However, Miller can make everyone forget all about that by helping the Mariners reach the ALCS for the first time in 24 years. Fortunately for Seattle fans, he showed signs of progress toward the end of the regular season.
During his final five starts in September, Miller whiffed 24 batters across 25 2/3 innings of work. That bodes well against a Tigers team that ranked fourth in MLB this year with a 23.9% strikeout rate.
I project Miller to pitch at least four innings, which is why I like his chances of notching at least four strikeouts in Game 4 of the ALDS.
