It’s still only June, but one quick look at the baseball standings reveals just how competitive this year’s Major League Baseball season has been so far.
In the AL East, the Yankees are dominating everyone. However, Boston (42-31), Tampa (40-32) and Toronto (40-32) are all jockeying for playoff positioning in their own right.
In the NL East, last year’s World Series champs are charging hard at the first-place Mets after a slow start. The MLB odds have reacted accordingly, with big prices for the Braves this month.
Out west, the Dodgers and Padres are back-and-forth at the top of the NL West.
And in America’s heartland, the Brewers and Cardinals are locked in arguably the most competitive division race across all Major League Baseball standings.
The Brewers were a significant favorite in the NL Central before the season started, but the St. Louis Cardinals have played an impressive opening half.
