Major League Baseball will introduce the Automated Ball-Strike (ABS) Challenge System during the 2026 regular season.

However, three matchups will not use the ABS this year:

  • The Mexico City Series
  • The Field of Dreams game
  • The Little League Classic

The Arizona Diamondbacks and San Diego Padres will clash in a two-game set during the Mexico City Series on April 25 and April 26.

In the Field of Dreams game, the Minnesota Twins and Philadelphia Phillies will face off on Aug. 13.

For the Little League Classic, the Milwaukee Brewers and Atlanta Braves will battle on Aug. 23.

All those games will take place in a ballpark that doesn’t have the system in place to use ABS. Other than those exceptions, all 30 teams will have access to the ABS in every other game this season.
