National Bank Open 2026: Prize Money for Canadian Open In Toronto, Montreal

The National Bank Open is one of the most entertaining events on the professional tennis tour.

First, there’s the history. This tournament became known as the National Bank Open in 2021 – before that, it was the Rogers Cup. 

For much of its history – which dates back to the 19th century – it was known as the Canadian Open, or the Canadian national championships.

The National Bank Open is a joint tour event, meaning there’s a men’s draw and a women’s draw. But unlike most other tournaments, Canada splits its tours between two completely different venues. 

This year, the men’s tour (ATP) is playing in Montreal, while the women’s tour (WTA) is in Toronto. The venues flip every year, which means the women will be back in Montreal next year and the men will be in Toronto. 

National Bank Open Purse 2026

As a 1,000-point event for both tours, the National Bank Open is the most significant tour event since Wimbledon. (It’s also just a few weeks before US Open tennis odds kick off at BetMGM.)

That means there’s some serious prize money in this Canadian purse. The men’s tour is playing for a total purse of $9,415,725, which is roughly in line with what the purse was in 2025.

The women’s purse has been substantially upgraded from last season. This year, the WTA players are competing in Toronto for a total purse of $7,433,076, which is more than 40% higher than last year. 

National Bank Open Winner Payout: How Much Prize Money Will the Champions Receive?

In 2026, the National Bank Open men’s singles champion will receive $1,151,420 in prize money. 

The women’s singles champion will receive a slightly smaller cash prize of $1,085,220.
