BYU freshman forward AJ Dybantsa is the betting favorite to be the No. 1 overall pick in the 2026 NBA Draft, per the latest odds at the BetMGM online sportsbook.

Dybantsa is -110 to be the first selection this summer, giving him an implied probability of 52.38%. He started with the second-best odds in this market before passing Kansas freshman Darryn Peterson during the Big 12 tournament in mid-March.

So far this season, Dybantsa leads the country with an average of 25.3 points per game. He’s also contributing 6.7 rebounds and 3.8 assists per contest while shooting 51.6% from the floor. His BYU Cougars are a No. 6 seed in the NCAA Tournament.

AJ Dybantsa’s NBA Draft Projection

Based on most NBA mock drafts, Dybantsa is projected to be one of the top picks this summer.

Tankathon and Sports Illustrated have Dybantsa going No. 1 overall, while ESPN and Yahoo have him at No. 2. CBS projects Dybantsa to go as low as No. 3.

Basically, Dybantsa’s draft projection remains fluid between the top three picks, despite being the betting favorite for the first selection.

Last Time a BYU Player Went No. 1 Overall

BYU has never had a player get selected No. 1 overall in the NBA Draft. There have been two players who have gone No. 2 overall: Mel Hutchins (1951) and Shawn Bradley (1993).

Egor Demin was the most recent first-round pick out of BYU, as he went No. 8 to the Brooklyn Nets in the 2025 NBA Draft.
