The NBA offseason has delivered plenty of storylines this summer, with several marquee names switching teams. But which squads have positioned themselves the best for the 2026-27 season?
To help answer that question, I’ve looked at the latest NBA odds to assess which teams have seen the biggest market movement ahead of the upcoming campaign.
Philadelphia 76ers
After swapping Paul George for Jaylen Brown, the 76ers are suddenly a legitimate contender in the Eastern Conference. They now have the fifth-best value (+1800) in the updated NBA championship odds market, having started as a 60/1 long shot earlier this offseason.
Philadelphia is now priced as the third-best team in the East, listed at +700 to win the conference. The 76ers opened with +1800 odds to make it through their conference.
Of course, the 76ers didn’t only trade for Brown this offseason. They also signed Dean Wade and Anfernee Simons. They remain in the mix for the LeBron James next team sweepstakes; a move could give them the best starting lineup in the league.
Philadelphia’s last trip to the NBA Finals came in 2001, so it’s safe to say that expectations haven’t been this high in quite some time.
Toronto Raptors
The Raptors have brought back Kawhi Leonard, who left them for the Los Angeles Clippers in 2019 after giving Toronto its lone NBA championship. Neither the Raptors nor Leonard have had as much playoff success since, so they are hoping a reunion helps them return to the mountain.
BetMGM’s betting odds seem to give the Raptors more championship equity with Leonard in the fold. They are now +2200 to win the title, down from +15000 when the market was first released. Toronto’s Eastern Conference odds have also gone from +2800 to +800.
Leonard has had health issues of late, but Toronto has enough talent to take the pressure off him in the regular season. The Raptors just need him to be a playoff closer when the stakes are highest.
Miami Heat
It’s time for a new chapter in Giannis Antetokounmpo’s career. After 13 seasons with the Milwaukee Bucks, Antetokounmpo has been traded to the Miami Heat, who rose in the ranks following the blockbuster deal.
Miami is now +2500 to win the NBA championship and +900 to claim the East. The Heat started the offseason at +3500 and +1600 in those two markets, respectively.
Despite Antetokounmpo being the best player to move this offseason, Miami’s odds didn’t change as much. That’s partly because the Heat were always a top contender for Antetokounmpo, though mostly because they don’t have as much depth around him.
Miami’s future odds will continue to adjust as more moves are made this summer.
