The season-long metrics on Chicago aren’t encouraging. For the entire season, Chicago ranks a spot ahead of Brooklyn in net rating with a one-spot difference in strength of schedule.
But Chicago has strengthened of late while the Nets have declined. Over each team’s last 10 games, the Bulls rank 12th in net rating while Brooklyn sits 27th, per NBA Advanced Stats.
Most of that improvement can be attributed to the Bulls’ outstanding defense.
Chicago ranks 25th in defensive rating across the entire season. Shrink the sample down to their previous 10 games and they improve to ninth overall.
That should give Chicago an advantage over a bad Nets offense. Brooklyn ranks 27th in offensive rating for the year, including 24th over the previous 10 games.
