After a crazy second-half comeback in Game 1, the New York Knicks have a 1-0 series lead over the Cleveland Cavaliers entering Game 2 of the Eastern Conference finals. Tipoff is 8 p.m. ET on Thursday at Madison Square Garden in New York on ESPN.
New York, which is a 6.5-point favorite via the latest NBA odds, enters this matchup with plenty of momentum after using a 44-11 late-game run to earn an 115-104 overtime victory on Tuesday.

I will fade Cleveland guard James Harden by taking the under on his points + rebounds prop (22.5) for Thursday’s Game 2.
This is the lowest combo line for Harden all postseason, but I don’t think that’s an accident after his performance in Game 1. He finished with 15 points on 5-of-16 shooting and four rebounds in the loss.
New York is well-equipped to slow down a 36-year-old Harden. The Knicks rank second in the NBA in isolation defense, which is how Harden gets 28% of his scoring production. They are also fifth in free throws allowed, so they can stay in front of him without fouling. Harden gets 25% of his points from the charity stripe.
Basically, I’m not surprised that Harden finished below his closing line of 23.5 points + rebounds in an overtime game on Tuesday. It’s also not shocking to see the market adjust after one game.
Harden has a history of postseason struggles, particularly when the stakes are highest. It’s why I think the Cavaliers might ultimately figure out a way to move on from him this offseason, as they are among the favorites in the LeBron James next team market.
For now, I’ll fade Harden in a game where New York might be able to pull away.
