After the New York Knicks stole Game 1, the San Antonio Spurs aim to even things back up in the NBA Finals. Game 2 is set for 8:30 p.m. ET on Friday at the Frost Bank Center in San Antonio on ABC.
San Antonio is a 6.5-point NBA betting favorite at home. Read on for my Knicks vs. Spurs prediction ahead of Friday’s battle:
Knicks vs. Spurs Prediction: Game 2 on June 5
- SGP: Victor Wembanyama 20-plus points and Spurs ML
The market is efficient for Game 2, which is why I’d rather go with a same-game parlay for Friday’s matchup. I like backing Victor Wembanyama to score 20-plus points in a Spurs’ victory in a bounce-back spot.
Wembanyama struggled offensively down the stretch in Game 1. He recorded 11 points on 3-of-8 shooting in the fourth quarter, posting a -6 point differential with two turnovers. Wembanyama finished with 26 points on 6-of-21 shooting for the game.
Considering Wembanyama’s age (22), it’s obvious that he’s still raw on the offensive end. When he takes that part of his game to the next level, it will be scary hours for the rest of the NBA.
That said, it’s worth backing Wembanyama in Game 2 because the Spurs need him to win this series. He’s averaged 23.3 points per game this postseason, scoring at least 20 in eight consecutive contests.
Wembanyama’s production is much better in wins compared to losses. In San Antonio’s 11 victories this postseason, he’s averaging 27.9 points per game and has eight outings with at least 20.
As a result, I like the idea of riding a parlay for my Knicks vs. Spurs prediction, which needs Wembanyama to score 20 points in a San Antonio win.
