While the Spurs were waiting for their next international superstar to appear, they accumulated one of the longest playoff droughts in professional sports. San Antonio’s last playoff series win was all the way back in 2017.

Victor Wembanyama changed all that. San Antonio easily dispatched the Trail Blazers in five games during the first round of the 2026 NBA playoffs, and it looks like there will be many playoff series to come in southern Texas.
