Based on the initial NBA betting lines, I prefer to parlay Charlotte’s moneyline and its alternate team total for my Heat vs. Hornets prediction on Tuesday.
Typically, play-in battles have been defensive slugfests. However, the full-game total has climbed 1.5 points due to the style of these two teams. Miami plays at the fastest pace in the league, while Charlotte ranks fifth in offensive rating.
Thanks to that combination, the Hornets scored 136 points in their last head-to-head meeting on March 17. They have averaged 120 points in the four matchups of this season series. As such, I’m comfortable backing Charlotte’s offense in Tuesday’s showdown.
Trail Blazers vs. Suns Prediction for Tuesday
I’m backing the over on Devin Booker’s points prop (26.5) for my favorite Trail Blazers vs. Suns prediction.
Booker has the highest scoring line in this game for a reason. He has plenty of postseason experience, and he typically plays a lot more on the biggest stage. In 47 career playoff games, he’s averaging 40 minutes.
It’s fair to wonder if the Trail Blazers’ length will be a problem for Booker, but he should do well at attacking their big men in pick-and-rolls. Portland ranks 29th in defending the pick-and-roll ball-handler, per Props Madness, which is how Booker gets 23% of his scoring production.
I like Booker’s chances of having the biggest impact in this game on Tuesday.
