Pistons Over/Under Wins 2026-27

Pistons Win Total Prediction

  • Over 49.5 wins (-110) — Pick made on Aug. 20

The Pistons might be the most underrated team in the Eastern Conference, which is why I like the over on their 49.5-win total. This total has actually dropped since opening above 50.

Maybe the market is seeing something that I’m not, but the Pistons still project well after claiming the No. 1 seed in the East with a 60-22 clip last year. Even with the East expected to be more competitive, Detroit is talented enough to win 50-plus games.

Assuming the Pistons can bring back restricted free agent Jalen Duren, their depth chart remains really strong on paper. Cade Cunningham, Ausar Thompson, and Duren make up a talented young trio. Duncan Robinson, John Collins, Dannis Jenkins, Ronald Holland Jr., and Isaiah Joe provide plenty of depth.

In the 2025-26 season, the Pistons ranked second in defensive rating and third in net rating. I expect their defense to remain elite, especially with Thompson being another year older.

Duren’s playoff struggles have made people forget how good he was during the regular season. Duren was named to the All-NBA third team, averaging 19.5 points and 10.5 rebounds per game in his fourth campaign. He still has tremendous upside.

Of course, Cunningham will continue to carry the Pistons. He’s established himself as one of the league’s best guards, finishing fifth in MVP voting last year with 23.9 points and 9.9 assists.

The Pistons might not replicate last year’s 60-win magic, but they can still challenge for home-court advantage in Round 1.
