Spurs vs. Thunder Prediction: Game 7 Western Conference Finals

BetMGM OfferBetting Promos

The Oklahoma City Thunder and San Antonio Spurs will clash for a spot in the NBA Finals. Game 7 of the Western Conference finals is set to begin at 8 p.m. ET on Saturday at the Paycom Center in Oklahoma City on NBC.

Oklahoma City is a 3.5-point NBA betting favorite as the reigning champion. Check out my Spurs vs. Thunder prediction for Game 7:

Spurs vs. Thunder Prediction: Game 7 on May 30

  • Thunder -3.5 (-110)

I will side with the defending champions’ experience in a Game 7 at home. That’s why I like Oklahoma City’s spread for my Spurs vs. Thunder prediction.

The Thunder have been in this position before, winning two different do-or-die Game 7s during last year’s championship run. The Spurs, meanwhile, have a young core playing in a Game 7 for the first time.

Oklahoma City won by 12 against the Indiana Pacers in Game 7 of last year’s NBA Finals. The Thunder also defeated the Denver Nuggets by 32 in Game 7 of the Western Conference semifinals.

In both instances, Oklahoma City overwhelmed the opposition with its suffocating defense. Neither team scored more than 93 points. That’s the blueprint for what I’m expecting on Saturday, especially since the total is the lowest it’s been all series after closing at 219.5 in Game 6.

The Thunder weren’t able to finish the job on the road in Game 6 of their 118-91 defeat, but that gives me more confidence that they will bounce back. Oklahoma City hasn’t dropped consecutive playoff games across the last seven series dating back to last year.

In fact, the Thunder have averaged a 16-point margin of victory when coming off a loss over the past two postseasons. They’ve won by at least four points in eight of the nine instances.

Prediction: Thunder -3.5 (-110)

Spurs vs. Thunder Odds for Game 7
