The confetti has dropped, the nets have been cut down, and the song “One Shining Moment” has been cued and played once again after a one-year hiatus due to the global pandemic.

Baylor is happy and its home city of Waco, Texas, is partying. Previously undefeated Gonzaga feels like it just got whacked in the head with a two-by-four and has a long trip back to the state of Washington. And BetMGM already has the NCAA basketball odds wager ready for the 2022 championship.

With the COVID-19 year of 2020 behind us, all seems normal again. The question is: Who will still be standing on this very night — one year from now — when the NCAA tournament crowns its next men’s champion? It’s a long time from now, but people are already curious moments after the conclusion of Baylor’s win.

Some programs will undergo major changes due to early entrances to the NBA Draft. Transfers also have to be considered, whether they add to a program or subtract from it.
