Arkansas lost four players to the transfer portal, two to exhausted eligibility, and two to the NBA Draft. Yet the Razorbacks are among the favorites in national championship odds.
Eric Musselman is rebuilding his roster after a second straight Elite Eight appearance was followed by the departures of several key players, including Jaylin Williams and JD Notae. But he’s doing so with the best recruiting class in program history and five notable transfers. And that group has Arkansas at +1200 in national title odds at the online sportsbook.
2023 National Championship Odds
The SEC’s title drought pales in comparison to those of the Big Ten and Pac-12 but the conference is still seeking its first title since 2012. If 2023 national championship odds prove accurate, the conference could have several contenders and other darkhorses.
The SEC is the only conference with two teams at +1200 or better in 2023 national championship odds. At +1200, Arkansas is tied with Duke, Kansas, and Houston for the third-best odds. The only teams ahead of that quartet are Gonzaga and Kentucky, both at +1000.
Four other teams are at +4000 or better, including Florida under first-year head coach Todd Golden. The Gators have won at least one tourney game in each of their last four appearances, including an Elite Eight run in 2017.
