A No. 10 seed has reached the Final Four just once in the history of the NCAA Tournament: Syracuse in 2016.

In 2016, the Orange lost in the first round of the ACC Tournament as the No. 9 seed, finalizing its pre-tournament record at 19-13 (9-9). It wasnโ€™t a team anyone expected much out of. Syraacuseย rattled off wins against No. 7 seed Dayton, No. 15 seed Middle Tennessee, No. 11 seed Gonzaga and No. 1 Virginia.

Syracuse ultimately lost in the national semifinals to North Carolina.ย

Prior to 2016, No. 10 seeds had gone 0-7 in the Elite Eight.ย
