As major conference tournaments get underway this week, many NCAA hopefuls are looking to add one or two final data points to their March Madness resumes.
For mid-majors like Santa Clara and VCU, they’re hoping a deep conference tournament run may be enough to solidify their status on the right side of the bubble. The tournament committee hasn’t been kind to non-power teams in recent years, but every season has a unique flavor.
Other high majors like Indiana and Auburn are hoping the preferential treatment continues.
