Every year, once the NCAA Tournament is whittled down to the Sweet 16, each quadrant of the bracket is played at one specific location.

These host cities, which are also known as regional locations, change every year.

In 2026, the Sweet 16 locations for the men’s tournament are Houston, San Jose, Chicago, and Washington, D.C.

The geographic spread of those cities fits with the NCAA Tournament’s annual strategy of dividing the regions into Eastern, Western, Midwestern, and Southern sections.

NCAA Tournament Regional Locations (2026)

  • South: Houston
  • West: San Jose
  • Midwest: Chicago
  • East: Washington, D.C.
