NC State is headed to Dayton for the 2026 First Four – the school’s first NCAA Tournament appearance since the wild run to the Final Four in 2024.

The Wolfpack will hope to recapture that magic against a Texas team that is entering the tournament having lost five of its last six.

Texas vs. NC State: NCAA Tournament First Four

This game is unusual in that it’s a rematch taking place in the first week of the NCAA Tournament – something the committee generally tries to avoid. In this case, it couldn’t be avoided because of the mechanics of the First Four.

Texas beat NC State, 102-97, at the Maui Invitational in late November. It was the day before Thanksgiving.

The market’s 50/50 price reflects the idea that November’s data point doesn’t matter much at this point. Both teams have played more than 20 games since then.
