One of the most anticipated NCAA tournament games on Thursday is Arkansas taking on Vermont in Buffalo.

When going through the college basketball betting lines and NCAA basketball odds, Vermont is a trendy upset pick, especially with how they played in the America East tournament and current college basketball betting trends.

#13 Vermont vs. #4 Arkansas Analysis & Prediction

This is my upset of the day and it is in my bracket as such.

Vermont has won 22 of 23 games and it really doesn’t matter what league you play in for that to be impressive. Head coach John Becker has mentioned this team as one of the best he has ever had at Vermont and it shows with an effective field goal percentage of 57.3, good for third in the entire country.

The Catamounts simply do everything well that you would want out of a team with upset potential. They are an efficient 3-point shooting team, they don’t turn the ball over, and they make their free throws.

As for Arkansas, they have just two wins over teams that rank higher than Vermont in KenPom away from their home court this season. That’s a baffling stat and with this game taking place in Buffalo, New York, it’s easy to see the Catamounts having a potential home-court advantage over the traveling Razorback faithful.

The key will be if Arkansas falls behind early. They are not great at forming comebacks and that is a product of their inability to convert from the perimeter. The Razorbacks rank 313th in the nation from beyond the arc, barely shooting over 30% on three-pointers this season.

It’s an upset spot that I am a big fan of and instead of taking the points, I’ll ride this one on the ML, +180.
