Will Auburn Men’s Basketball Make the 2026 NCAA Tournament?

Auburn earned its best win of the season on Jan. 24, with a road win at Florida. The Tigers were 13-7 after the game and a virtual lock to make the NCAA Tournament.

Since then, Auburn simply hasn’t been a very good basketball team, according to both the game results and the Auburn basketball odds market. 

After eking out a tight home win at Texas on Jan. 28, the Tigers dropped five conference games in a row and have been sinking toward the NCAA Tournament cutline ever since. They’re 2-8 since Jan. 31. 

If Auburn goes one-and-done in the SEC Tournament, the team’s four-year NCAA Tournament streak will be in real peril – if it isn’t already.

Auburn NCAA Tournament Prediction

I am predicting Auburn will make the NCAA Tournament.

I am not personally impressed by Auburn and think the Tigers’ final five weeks of the season should probably result in an NIT bid.

That said, the committee has shown extra deference to power conferences in recent years, and Auburn’s four Quad 1 wins – including the win against reigning champion Florida – will look good against many of the mid-major teams that Auburn shares the bubble with this week.
