Georgia is comfortably in the NCAA Tournament field right now, but the Bulldogs can’t squander their position with a long skid to end the regular season.Â
If Georgia finishes under .500 in SEC play, its at-large NCAA Tournament status could evaporate. The SEC isn’t nearly as good this season as it was last year.

Georgia March Madness: Last Season
Georgia made its first NCAA Tournament in a decade last season. The Bulldogs lost in the first round as a No. 9 seed.
Georgia’s last official win in the NCAA Tournament came in 1996, thanks to the vacated results from its 2002 tournament appearance.Â
Georgia NCAA Tournament Prediction
I am predicting Georgia will miss the NCAA Tournament.
The SEC is not as strong this year, and Georgia mostly avoided anything remotely challenging in the non-conference portion of the schedule. If Georgia finished as the ninth- or 10th-place team in the SEC, as it’s on track to do, there just won’t be a compelling argument to sweep the Bulldogs into the field.
Georgia Final Four Odds
Georgia’s basketball odds for a deep tournament run are long. But given the program’s bubble status and total lack of recent tournament success, there’s a good case the hypothetical return should be even bigger.Â
