Ohio State is a bubble team in 2026, but the Buckeyes’ key win over Purdue on March 1 will likely propel them into the NCAA Tournament.

Ohio State March Madness: Last Season

Ohio State hasn’t made the NCAA Tournament since 2022.

Ohio State NCAA Tournament Prediction

I am predicting Ohio State will make the NCAA Tournament.

Personally, I think the Buckeyes’ resume is pretty weak. But it’s hard to ignore the attitude that pushed Texas into the field last year over more deserving teams. If Ohio State is a borderline case, I expect the team to be jawboned into the First Four.

Ohio State In the Final Four

Ohio State made the second week of the NCAA Tournament in four consecutive years under Thad Matta, from 2010-13. That included a Final Four run in 2012.

Ohio State was a No. 1 or No. 2 seed in all four of those years. If the Buckeyes want to get back this year in Jake Diebler’s second season as head coach, it’ll be a much tougher path. Ohio State’s basketball odds at BetMGM reflect that.
