Week 9 NFL

In the NFL this year, favorites are winning just 53-67-1 against the spread. NFL betting hasn’t been kind to people wagering on the favorites 2021, but three favored teams could reverse that trend in Week 9.

Below, I’ll look at some NFL best bets for Week 9. Specifically, three favorites who should be able to take care of business on Sunday.

  • Buffalo Bills (-14.5) at Jacksonville Jaguars
  • Chicago Bears at Pittsburgh Steelers (-6.5)
  • New England Patriots (-3.5) at Carolina Panthers

Read on to find out why the Bills, Steelers, and Patriots are worth backing this Sunday.

Buffalo Bills (-14.5) at Jacksonville Jaguars

Buffalo has played two close games this year; a Week 1 loss to the Steelers and a Week 7 loss to the Titans. The Steelers game looks like an aberration that can sometimes happen in Week 1, and the Titans look unbeatable when Henry has the run game going. In every other game this year, Buffalo has won by 15 or more points.

The Jaguars won’t surprise Buffalo as Pittsburgh did, and they don’t have a running back like Derrick Henry. The Jaguars have no answer for a Buffalo team that usually wins big, which is why I think Bills -14.5 is one of the best NFL bets Week 9 has to offer.

Chicago Bears at Pittsburgh Steelers (-6.5)

The Bears are hoping that Justin Fields is the future quarterback, but that doesn’t mean he will help them win games right now. That’s a problem for Chicago because their vaunted defense Bears defense got gashed for 145 rushing yards and three touchdowns against San Francisco.

The Bears now have to take on the Steelers and Najee Harris. Despite a slow start, the Steelers and Harris torched teams for an average of 127 rushing yards during the last three games.

The Steelers rush attack makes Pittsburgh one of the best NFL bets of Week 9. If you’re looking for the best NFL prop bets, you may want to look at Najee Harris rush yards.

New England Patriots (-3.5) at Carolina Panthers

New England looks better every week as Mac Jones gets a handle on the offense and adapts to the speed of the NFL. Jones has been doing a great job of spreading the ball around. In Week 8, five different players had 30 or more yards receiving.

The Panthers started 3-0 but are now trending in the wrong direction. Carolina pulled out the win against Atlanta last week, but it wasn’t pleasant. Sam Darnold thew for just 129 yards, and no Panthers’ rusher topped 100 yards on the ground.

The Panthers could be getting Christian McCaffrey back this week, and that’s the main reason this line is so close. If McCaffrey doesn’t play, or if he’s on a snap count, New England should have no problem in this game. That’s why I’m making New England one of the NFL Week 9 best bets to win and cover.

NFL Best Bets for Week 9

The Bills and Steelers should have no trouble covering the spread. New England backers may have difficulty if McCaffrey plays, but the Panthers would be wise to protect their star player and not rush him back from injury.

If McCaffrey does suit up Sunday, you may see this line move back towards Carolina, but the Patriots are now one of the most dangerous teams in the league.
