As NFL Week 13 approaches, the league is now in the thick of its playoff push, and each game takes on a heightened level of importance.
This week’s current NFL betting odds show a few favorites you may want to back as the great teams separate themselves from the pack.
Do you want to know the favorites to bet on this week? If so, take a look at my NFL best bets for favored teams.
Baltimore Ravens (-4.5) at Pittsburgh Steelers
The Pittsburgh Steelers are a team in transition, which could mean trouble for the remainder of their 2021 season. A four-game winning streak ended with a tie against the Detroit Lions in Week 10.
The Baltimore Ravens have won three out of their last four, but there have been some issues. Lamar Jackson threw four interceptions last week against the Browns, and the offense has only scored more than 20 points once in the previous five weeks.
The Pittsburgh Steelers are 4-2 ATS as underdogs, but they got demolished last week by the Bengals and Joe Burrow. First-round RB Najee Harris averages only 3.6 yards per rush.
Veteran QB Ben Roethlisberger struggles to throw the ball downfield, averaging only 6.6 yards per passing attempt. Despite its star power, the defense allows an average of 133.1 rushing yards and 24.3 points per game.
I can’t see the Steelers scoring enough points to keep up despite Baltimore’s recent struggles on offense. As a result, I think Baltimore wins by a touchdown.
San Francisco 49ers (-3.5) at Seattle Seahawks
Like the Steelers versus the Ravens, I’m high on the 49ers covering because I’m low on the Seahawks. Both teams are 5-6 ATS but headed in opposite directions.
The 49ers won four out of their last five games, scoring over 30 in each of those four wins. The Seahawks have lost four out of their previous five games, despite the return of QB Russell Wilson.
Since Wilson’s return, the Seahawks haven’t scored 20 points. They’re also going up against the league’s sixth-best pass defense in the San Francisco 49ers.
To me, all signs point to Seattle struggling at home. Though the half-point hook gives me a slight pause, I think San Francisco covers as a Week 13 favorite.
Los Angeles Chargers at Cincinnati Bengals (-3)
Last week, the Bengals crushed the Steelers 41-10 at home. The Chargers, however, went on the road and lost to the Denver Broncos.
To me, the AFC North remains one of the most inconsistent divisions. Yet, the Bengals look poised to make a run at the division championship. As a result, Cincinnati is also my top NFL Week 13 favorite.
Burrow and the Bengals average 28 points a game, with running back Joe Mixon averaging 4.4 yards per rush. Against the Steelers, Mixon ran for 165 yards and two TDs.
This week, he faces a Chargers run defense ranked 22nd in yards allowed (103). I expect the Bengals to ground and pound, control the clock, and attack the Chargers’ defense over the top with Burrow’s accurate arm.
