As is the case every year, a number of players changed teams during NFL free agency.
This changed the NFL playoff odds and NFL odds in general for the 2022 season. And it wasn’t just offensive players switching teams that impacted the odds; defensive players impacted things, too.
With how pass-heavy the league has become, some defensive positions have become even more valuable, including linebacker and cornerback.
The top corners received some pretty big contracts, which means big cap hits for their respective teams.
What is Rams Cornerback Jalen Ramsey’s Cap Hit For 2022?
When it comes to cornerbacks across the league, Ramey is widely considered the best. His salary would back that up, as he will have a cap hit of $23.2 million in 2022.
In Sept. of 2020, Ramsey signed a five-year extension with Los Angeles worth $100 million. The Rams only took a $9 million cap hit in 2021, but that will change in a big way as his number will be over $22.7 million in each of the final four years of the contract.
The 27-year-old tied a career-high with four interceptions in 2021 to go along with 16 passes defended, the second-most of his career. For the second straight season, he was named a First-Team All-Pro.

What is J.C. Jackson’s Cap Hit With Chargers?
One of the best free-agent cornerbacks this offseason was J.C. Jackson.
The former Patriots corner signed a massive deal with the Chargers on one of the first days of free agency. It’s a five-year deal worth just over $82 million with $40 million guaranteed.
When it comes to his cap hit for 2022, it’s just $8 million. This is great value for a player of his caliber, but the number will increase to $17 million in 2023.
Jackson has 17 interceptions over the last two seasons.
