We are 11 weeks into the NFL season, and there are still many question marks. There are only a few dominant teams, and the Arizona Cardinals are the only squad with fewer than three losses.
Not all favorites are created equal, and some teams carry more value than others. So who are the favored teams with the best NFL betting odds this week?
Read on to analyze the Week 12 NFL football odds and explore the favored teams worth a money line wager.
Los Angeles Rams at Green Bay Packers
The Packers are slight home favorites at home against the Rams. They are giving one point, and the money line is -110, barring any changes.
The Rams are coming off a bye week and have had two weeks to prepare for this game. However, their last game was a 31-10 beating on the road against an average 49ers team that’d lost five out of its previous six games.
Aaron Rodgers has largely been successful in head-to-head matchups against Matthew Stafford. Stafford was 3-7 at Lambeau Field as the Detroit Lions field general. This week, Rodgers will rely on the home-field advantage with below-freezing temperatures to once again defeat his former division rival QB.
New York Jets at Houston Texans
The two-win Texans are not having a successful season by any definition. However, they offer value this week at -130 against the Jets if you don’t mind laying a little extra chalk.
No team in the NFL allows more points than the Jets. They give up a whopping average of 32 points per game, and they rank 32nd in passing yards allowed per game (282.2).
Meanwhile, the Texans are coming off a stunning upset on the road against the 8-3 Tennessee Titans. Finally, QB Tyrod Taylor gained some confidence. Taylor didn’t have to do too much (only attempting 24 passes), but he completed 14.
I expect a Houston team to carry its momentum at home versus a bad Jets defense.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers at Indianapolis Colts
The Bucs at Colts is one of the most anticipated games of Week 12. The defending Super Bowl champs are 2.5-point road favorites and -130 on the money line.
While the Colts are 6-5, their record does not tell the whole story. Indianapolis are winners of three straight, and running back Jonathan Taylor is having an MVP season. In 11 games, Taylor has amassed over 1400 all-purpose yards and 15 touchdowns.
There are two reasons that I like the Buccaneers this week. For starters, I think Tom Brady is always a great bet on the money line.
Second, the Buccaneers have the top-rated rushing defense in the league. They have allowed just 784 yards this season. I believe the Bucs defense will present a challenge to Taylor. In a quarterback duel between Brady and Carson Wentz, I’ll always take Brady to prevail.
Best Value for Week 12 NFL Football Odds
There are interesting straight-up plays in Week 12’s NFL football odds. Some favorites have an opportunity to create separation in the playoff push.
The Packers and Bucs are great examples. They both have at least a two-game lead over their division rival. A win in Week 12 could put the nail in the coffin for the division title.
