NFL football spreads in Week 9 offer bettors a few options for favorites to also cover the spread. Wagers like these need the patience of a confident gambler.

The latest NFL lines show favorites that include the Indianapolis Colts. The Colts are set to play the New York Jets on Thursday night.

Can the Colts cover the spread against the Jets?

Let’s see if that’s a good place to start.

Thursday Night: Jets vs. Colts

On Thursday night, the Colts will play their third prime time game this season. Last week, they nearly defeated the Tennessee Titans in overtime.

On the other hand, the Jets stunned the Cincinnati Bengals, winning 34-31 without rookie quarterback Zach Wilson. Mike White stepped in for the Jets, grabbing the win for his first NFL start.

The Colts would need to cover a 10.5 spread against the Jets. Three weeks ago, the Jets upset the Titans.

So, this game might be closer than people think.

Unless you think Wentz can successfully throw downfield more than a few times, stay away from this one.

Denver Broncos vs. Dallas Cowboys

On Sunday afternoon, the Denver Broncos will face the Dallas Cowboys. For this game, the Cowboys are currently favored by 10 points.

Last week, Dak Prescott was sidelined for Cooper Rush. Rush threw for 325 yards with two touchdowns and one interception against a hapless Minnesota Vikings defense.

America’s team got the victory on Sunday night, 20-16. The Cowboys now dominate the NFC East by three games heading into Week 9.

Prescott’s expected to practice this week. So, if anybody can cover a 10-point spread on the road this week, how about them Cowboys?

Las Vegas Raiders vs. New York Giants

On Monday night, the New York Giants surprised everybody last week, losing by only three points against the Kansas City Chiefs. In Week 9, they’ll be facing the gritty Las Vegas Raiders, who might clinch the AFC West this season.

The Raiders are favored to win in East Rutherford by three points. At -160, the odds won’t get any better. However, I like the Raiders to cover as road favorites in Week 9, as I don’t believe the Giants can keep up.

New England Patriots vs. Carolina Panthers

The New England Patriots are favored by three-and-a-half points this week against the Carolina Panthers. It’s the second week in a row the Pats will be on the road.

They took care of the Los Angeles Chargers last week, 27-24. Then, a week before that, they ran up the score against the Jets, 54-13. (That overtime loss against the Cowboys must have gotten under Bill Belichick’s thick skin.)

Rookie quarterback Mac Jones has been impressive in his first year with the Patriots, or at least impressive enough to be batting .500.

Can the Pats achieve a winning record against the Panthers? I think Sam Darnold might be in for a lesson against Belichick.

As for football spreads, I like the Patriots to cover this week. They’re starting to get scary good right in time for the playoffs.

Arizona Cardinals vs. San Francisco 49ers

The Arizona Cardinals are no longer undefeated. So nobody knows in which direction the San Francisco 49ers are headed.

So the money line for the Cardinals vs. 49ers rests at a pick ’em wager (-110). However, that line should move slightly before kickoff.

These two teams met a few weeks ago in a defensive matchup. When the Cardinals stopped 49ers’ rookie quarterback Trey Lance at the goal line, the team dubbed it as “playoff football.”

The Cardinals are tied for first place in the NFC West, while the 49ers sit four games back. This game won’t be easy, but I like the Cardinals to cover the small one-point spread against the 49ers.

This game should halt the 49ers’ playoff hopes right in their tracks.

NFL Point Spreads: Dig Deep for Week 9

NFL point spreads for the first week of November remind me of the rapidly approaching holiday season. You need to have a solid footing in reality to maintain your equilibrium.

Now you know to avoid the Thursday night spread and find some value in teams that have shown their true worth in 2021.
