Some significant NFL injuries heading into Week 10 will impact the betting lines in various ways.

NFL odds have always been affected by injuries, and this week is no different. Here’s a breakdown of the most significant injuries this week in the NFL.

Week 10 NFL Injury Report

Last week, some of the NFL injuries included Arizona Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray and Carolina Panthers quarterback Sam Darnold.

The Cardinals were also without wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins. Still, they pulled off a big win against the San Francisco 49ers, 31-17.

And, of course, the devastating foot injury to Derrick Henry left the Tennessee Titans with a gaping hole at running back. However, the Titans amassed 125 rushing yards without him against the Los Angeles Rams for a stunning upset on Sunday Night Football.

For Week 10, the Panthers’ injuries seem to be impacting the betting lines for their matchup against the Cardinals. Darnold had an MRI on his right shoulder on Monday. The team listed him as day-to-day.

Christian McCaffrey returned to the Panthers’ lineup after missing five weeks with a hamstring injury. He carried the ball 14 times for 52 yards in a 24-6 loss at home to the New England Patriots last week.

Darnold threw three interceptions, and the team totaled 240 yards on offense. Without Darnold, the Panthers might have to rely on McCaffrey.

Thus, the 10-point opening line comes in favor of the Cardinals at home.

Other NFL Injuries to Impact Betting Lines in Week 10

The betting lines for the Titans should be impacted this week for their home game against the New Orleans Saints. Losing Henry might have jeopardized their top seed ranking in the AFC.

However, after defeating the Rams on the road as a 7.5 underdog, the Titans are favored to win this week. They remain three games ahead of the Colts in the AFC South. So, the Saints will travel to Tennessee to face a team on a five-game winning steak, with a 3-1 home record, and that’s leading their division and conference.

A -150 money line for the Titans might come down somewhat this week. The Saints are a slight favorite (-115) to cover the three-point spread.

COVID-19

Earlier this week, bettors learned that the Browns could go into their game this week against the Patriots without the services of Nick Chubb and Demetric Felton. While this hasn’t seemed to move the betting lines too much, it’s a situation to watch before placing bets on New England or Cleveland this week.

Another significant “injury” from last week came from Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers. Rodgers tested positive for COVID-19 and sparked a media controversy.

Without Rodgers, the Packers lost to the Kansas City Chiefs, 13-7.

In Week 10, the Packers will host the Seattle Seahawks, a team who’d been without starting quarterback Russell Wilson since Week 5. Wilson was cleared to play this week while recovering two weeks early after having surgery on a finger on his throwing hand.

Wilson participated in practice on Monday, and Rodgers won’t be cleared to play until Saturday after multiple negative COVID-19 tests.

The Packers are the favorite for the money line, while the Seahawks opened at around +160.

Both teams are getting the same odds for the 3.5-point spread. However, the under is slightly favored (-115) with a point total of 49.5.

Teams that Overcome Adversity Make the Playoffs

It’s early November, and NFL injuries plague almost every team. But it will be the teams that overcome adversity that make the playoffs.

The Cardinals are 8-1. However, they have injuries at quarterback, running back, and wide receiver, and they are still heavily favored to win at home against the Panthers, a team struggling with injuries to keep their playoff hopes alive.

The return of Russell Wilson might make the Seahawks a decent bet. They’ll be looking to make a playoff run against the number two seed in the NFC, the Green Bay Packers.

And the Titans have a shot to keep their top seed in the AFC, even without Derrick Henry.
