Week 14 of the NFL season is about to arrive, and with five weeks to go in the regular season, bettors may be anxiously looking for NFL money lines that provide them with the best value.
BetMGM has the latest NFL odds and money line bets worth looking at this week.
What are those? Here are three money lines that stand out to me in Week 14.
Washington (+160) vs. Cowboys
Earlier in the season, I never would have thought that this might be a good spot to back the Washington Football Team. However, they have played good football, winning their last four games.
During this stretch, they have been winning with their defense, giving up an average of 17.5 points per game.
You might argue that the Dallas Cowboys offense is a different animal considering that they lead the league in total yards per game (416.3) and rank second in points per game (29.4).
However, during this winning streak, Washington faced the one team ahead of the Cowboys in points per game: the Tampa Bay Buccaneers (31.4). In that game four weeks ago, they held the Bucs to just 19 points.
I think this game will come down to if Washington can stop the run. They rank third in rushing yards allowed per game (91.3) but take on a two-headed monster in RBs Ezekiel Elliott and Tony Pollard.
But, the Cowboys’ running game has been controlled before. When held to under 80 rushing yards, they are just 1-3 this season.
If Washington’s rushing defense can contain the Cowboys’ running attack, they can potentially pull off an upset.
Falcons (+130) at Panthers
I like this spot for the Atlanta Falcons.
The Falcons play much better on the road than at home. They are 4-2 overall and against the spread on the road this season, while being 1-5 overall and 0-5 ATS at home.
The Carolina Panthers also seem to have problems playing at home this season. In 2021, they are just 2-4 overall and ATS at home.
In their last game before the bye, QB Cam Newton was benched, which suggests that Carolina might have questions at that position. Carolina ranks 29th in passing yards per game (197.4), while Atlanta ranks 18th in passing yards against (247.8). I don’t believe that Carolina can move the ball through the air against the Falcons this week.
I am willing to take my chances on Atlanta on the road here with all of that in mind.
49ers (+100) at Bengals
The San Francisco 49ers find themselves as just one-point underdogs going into their game against the Cincinnati Bengals, and while that surprises me, I think they can pull off a nice road win here.
A pattern that the Bengals tend to fall into this season is that they struggle against teams that can defend the pass. Unfortunately, the 49ers are coming into this game ranking highly in this category, allowing the fourth-fewest passing yards per game in the NFL (205.1).
Cincinnati has not yet faced a team that gives up fewer passing yards, but they have faced four teams that rank in the top ten in passing yards allowed per game. They lost all four games.
The Bengals’ offense averaged just over 19 points per game in those four games. If they cannot figure out how to attack against a team that can defend the pass, I expect the 49ers to come out with a road win here.
