It’s Week 5 of the football season, meaning the playoff picture is starting to come into focus. This weekend, there are some great games between divisional rivals and elite NFL teams, meaning there’s plenty of opportunities for NFL betting action.

Top teams in the NFC include the Los Angeles Rams, Arizona Cardinals, and Green Bay Packers. These teams all have important matchups this week against solid teams. In the AFC, the Kansas City Chiefs started slowly, but they have a big game at home in Week 5 on Sunday night against the Buffalo Bills, a rematch of last year’s AFC Championship.

Let’s take a closer look at the top three games for NFL Week 5.

Los Angeles Rams at Seattle Seahawks (+1.5)

On Thursday night, the Rams take on the Seattle Seahawks. If they want to remain competitive in a stacked division, this NFC West matchup is almost a must-win for the Seahawks.

Quarterback Russell Wilson has been one of the most accurate passers in the league. However, he’ll need to get the ball to wide receivers Tyler Lockett and DK Metcalf as much as possible for the Seahawks to have any hopes of keeping up with the Rams’ offense.

Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford went 27/38 against the Buccaneers in Week 3, throwing for 343 yards and four touchdowns. Early on in the 2021 season, the Rams are the team to beat in the NFC.

The betting lines slightly favor the Rams but don’t discount the Seattle crowd in this game, which could be a shootout.

San Francisco 49ers at Arizona Cardinals (-4.5)

There are a few other games worth mentioning, but the 49ers vs. Cardinals is another crucial matchup in the NFC West. The Cardinals are currently 4.5 point favorites to win this game.

The 49ers have lost two straight games, including a tough loss in Week 4 against the Seahawks. Unfortunately, their Week 5 matchup won’t be any easier.

The Cardinals averaged over thirty points in their first four games. Quarterback Kyle Murray has thrown for more than one hundred yards to six different receivers. The Cardinals have excellent receivers and are now using tight ends to expose the middle of defenses. They can attack the seams of zone defenses, or their tight ends can find favorable matchups in coverage against opposing linebackers. Maxx Williams had the best game of an Arizona tight end in 32 years in Week 2 against the Minnesota Vikings.

Don’t sleep on the Cardinals at home.

Buffalo Bills at Kansas City Chiefs (-3)

The Sunday night game for NFL Week 5 features the Bills and the Chiefs. The Chiefs need a victory to keep pace in the surprisingly competitive AFC West, while the Bills want to increase their lead in the AFC East.

So far, both teams have had plenty of success on offense. Bills’ quarterback Josh Allen has played well this season, and coach Sean McDermott has maintained a balanced approach on offense. On Sunday night, he’ll face his former colleague, Andy Reid.

As the youngest quarterback in NFL history to win a Super Bowl MVP, Patrick Mahomes has plenty of experience winning big games. Still, the Chiefs will need their defense to step up, or McDermott and the Bills might leave town with a huge win.
