Week 14 Predictions

New England @ Los Angeles Rams (-6)

The Skinny: Week 14 begins with a Thursday night, cross-country clash between two teams positioning for the playoffs. New England has won two games in a row to hit .500 while LA shares an 8-4 record atop the NFC West with Seattle. The Rams are 4-1 overall and 3-2 against the spread at home. A touchdown favorite looks to be dead-on for LA.

The Prediction: Rams 28-21

Houston (-1.5) @ Chicago

The Skinny: “Are the Bears for real?” That was a common question at the start of the season. And we know the answer now. After a 5-1 start, the Bears have lost six games in a row. Houston has been up and down with a 4-8 record, but the Texans are 2-2 against the spread when playing as at least 1.5-point favorites. This isn’t the flashiest of games on the Week 14 slate, but it does draw interest from the online betting community as essentially a pick-em game.

The Prediction: Texans 21-13

Dallas (-3.5) @ Cincinnati

The Skinny: Dallas is coming off short rest after playing Tuesday against the Ravens, a 34-17 loss. That’s a big ask for a team to turn it around and hit the road for a Sunday game. The Bengals are struggling, losing four straight games. This is a prime opportunity to get off that losing streak.

The Prediction: Bengals 24-21

Kansas City (-7) @ Miami

The Skinny: This one could get interesting. Kansas City is rolling right now with seven straight wins and an 11-1 record. The Chiefs are just 3-3 against the spread on the road, though. Meanwhile, Miami is 8-4 overall and an impressive 9-3 against the spread. One more trend to keep in mind: When being an underdog by at least 7.5 points, the Dolphins are 3-0 against the spread. Expect a close game here.

The Prediction: Chiefs 34-31

Arizona (-2.5) @ New York Giants

The Skinny: Whoever would’ve thought a Week 14 game between a 5-7 team and a 6-6 team would have such big playoff implications? The Giants are tied with Washington at 5-7 on top of the NFC East. Then you have Arizona hovering around a Wild Card berth at 6-6 after losing three straight games. Coming off a huge win against Seattle, New York +2.5 looks like it falls under the Week 14 NFL best bets category. The Giants are 8-4 against the spread this season.

The Prediction: Giants 27-17

Minnesota @ Tampa Bay (-6.5)

The Skinny: The Vikings struggled and barely won against a one-win Jacksonville team last week. But at 6-6, Minnesota is in the playoff picture. Tampa Bay sits at 7-5 and is currently on a two-game losing streak. This is a good opportunity for the Buccaneers to get back on track against a Minnesota team that is 0-2 against the spread when playing as at least a 6.5-point underdog.

The Prediction: Buccaneers 24-21

Denver @ Carolina (-4)

The Skinny: Two 4-8 teams featured here. But hey, here’s this … both teams are 7-5 against the spread. Denver gave Kansas City a scare last week, losing 22-16. Its defense should play well enough again to get a gritty road win. Don’t expect many fireworks in this game.

The Prediction: Broncos 17-14

Tennessee (-7) @ Jacksonville

The Skinny: The top team in the AFC South takes on the last-place team as Tennessee (8-4) heads to the 1-11 Jaguars. Jacksonville battled a playoff-contending Minnesota tough last week. But playing two physical rushing attacks in back-to-back games will be a tall task for the defense.

The Prediction: Titans 31-17

Indianapolis (-2.5) @ Las Vegas

The Skinny: Philip Rivers and the Colts have flown under the radar for an 8-4 team. Rivers has a 7:2 touchdown-to-interception ratio in the last three games. They’ll take on a Raiders team coming off an emotional last-minute victory against the winless Jets. That alone raises concerns about this Las Vegas team, which had a two-game losing streak going into the game against New York. “A win is a win” isn’t always the case when that win is a close one against the 2020 Jets.

The Prediction: Colts 31-28

New York Jets @ Seattle (-13)

The Skinny: This is the biggest spread of Week 14. And for good reason. The Jets seem to be chasing the wrong side of history with an 0-12 record. Seattle should have a high level of determination entering this game after a disappointing offensive showing in a 17-12 loss to the Giants. Expect a big Seattle win here.

The Prediction: 38-14

Green Bay (-7.5) @ Detroit

The Skinny: The top seed in the NFC is still up for grabs, and the Packers are right there at 9-3, one game behind New Orleans at 10-2. After firing head coach Matt Patricia, the Lions responded by defeating Chicago 34-30. Don’t expect back-to-back division wins, though. Green Bay is a touchdown favorite and is 8-4 against the spread this year.

The Prediction: Packers 35-21

New Orleans (-7) @ Philadelphia

The Skinny: The Eagles now have the most expensive backup quarterback in the NFL. Carson Wentz has been replaced by Jalen Hurts as the starter. We saw last week with Detroit that a shakeup can create renewed energy in a team. But this isn’t the ideal opponent for this to happen with the Eagles. New Orleans is rolling, even with Drew Brees sidelined with fractured ribs, and are winners of nine straight games.

The Prediction: Saints 21-20

Atlanta (-2.5) @ Los Angeles Chargers

The Skinny: The Chargers have the best offensive rookie in the NFL in quarterback Justin Herbert. Seeing the youngster take on veteran Matt Ryan is an exciting matchup. Both teams are struggling and are far below .500, though. Trends show this is about as equal of a matchup as you can ask for.

The Prediction: Chargers 28-27

Washington @ San Francisco (-3.5)

The Skinny: The 49ers are 5-7 and unlikely to make the playoffs. Washington is 5-7 and right there contending for a Top 4 seed/division title. Washington has won three straight games, including handing Pittsburgh its first loss. San Francisco is 1-5 at home and also 1-5 against the spread at home.

The Prediction: Washington 24-21

Pittsburgh @ Buffalo (-1.5)

The Skinny: This should be a tremendous game between the 11-1 Steelers and 9-3 Bills. Pittsburgh is coming off of its first loss of the season and will look for a big response. Look for the Steelers to erase any doubts that may have arisen after losing to Washington. This is a chance at a statement win against a quality opponent.

The Prediction: Steelers 28-10

GLENDALE, ARIZONA - DECEMBER 07: Quarterback Josh Allen #17 of the Buffalo Bills scrambles to avoid a sack by defensive end Kerry Hyder Jr. #92 of the San Francisco 49ers during the second half of the NFL football game at State Farm Stadium on December 07, 2020 in Glendale, Arizona. Baltimore @ Cleveland

The Skinny: Monday Night Football brings us the Ravens versus the Browns. These two AFC North teams are trending in opposite directions. Cleveland is playing with some swagger at 9-3 and has won four straight. Baltimore has lost three in a row to drop to 6-5. We’re all about trends here at BetMGM. And this one points to a Browns’ win where they would improve to 6-1 at home.

The Prediction: Browns 31-21
