As we inch closer to the season’s midway point, NFL betting is reaching a fever pitch. Upsets were in the air on Halloween Sunday when we saw not one, not two, but three backup quarterbacks shine and lead their teams to victory.
Part of the fun of football betting is stringing a couple of games together. Of course, anyone can pick one game, but when you can hit on your parlay bets, that’s when the real fun begins. So let’s check out some of Week 9’s best NFL parlay picks.
Jets (+10.5) at Colts, Browns at Bengals (-3)
One of the most shocking upsets of the weekend was the Jets defeating the Bengals 34-31 in East Rutherford. The Jets not only came into the game with a woeful 1-5 record, but they also had untested backup quarterback Mike White under center.
White turned out to be a revelation, as he threw for over 400 yards and three touchdowns against what we thought was a good Bengals defense. This week White will get a shot against Carson Wentz and the Colts.
On Sunday, it was a tale of the old Carson Wentz as he made some terrible decisions and a couple of egregious turnovers that sunk his team’s chances. I’m taking advantage of an inflated 10.5 spread for the first leg of these NFL parlays.
The Browns looked awful on Sunday in a crucial home game against a mediocre Steelers team. The Mayfield-led offense appears broken as they scored just 10 points on their turf. In the last three weeks, the Browns have scored 14, 17, and 10 points.
This week they’ll head to Cincinnati to face an angry Bengals team that was just upset by the Jets. I like the Bengals by a touchdown in this NFL Week 9 matchup.
Patriots (-3.5) at Panthers, Bills (-14.5) at Jaguars
It appears that Bill Belichick has the Patriots rolling, and this is one of my favorite NFL bets of the week. The Pats pulled off an impressive road victory against the Chargers where they had young quarterback Justin Herbert confused for most of the afternoon. Their run game is starting to click, and rookie QB Mac Jones avoids the big mistakes.
In the last four contests, the Pats have averaged a gaudy 33.8 points per game. Panthers’ quarterback Sam Darnold has been underwhelming this season with more picks than TDs and a disappointing 60.8 completion percentage. He suffered a concussion on Sunday, but even if he plays this week, Belichick’s game plan will have him flustered all day long.
The Bills took an entire half to shake off the rust of their bye week, as they were tied 3-3 at the half with the bottom-dwelling Dolphins. Josh Allen and his team woke up in the second half, though, and went on to beat Miami convincingly 26-11.
I don’t expect the Bills to have two lackluster games in a row, and they should take it to a Jaguars team that just got crushed by a Geno Smith-led Seattle Seahawks. The Bills should boat race the Jags in this one, making it one of the best NFL bets.
Go Big or Go Home With Parlay Bets
Parlay bets are an exciting way to go after the bigger pots. The parlay picks above produce odds of +264, meaning that a $10 wager would pay out $36.45. Of course, there are endless combinations to take advantage of, but these are a couple of my favorites this week.
