Kansas City will try to end a three-game skid against Denver on MNF in Chiefs vs Broncos.
In addition to the pregame spread and total, bettors can now find NFL odds for player props at the BetMGM online sportsbook.
Below, I’ve outlined a pair of player prop predictions for the AFC West contest. Odds are reflective at time of writing and are subject to movement.
Chiefs vs Broncos Prediction: MNF Player Props
Patrick Mahomes Over 0.5 Interceptions (+125)
It’s surprising to me that this prop is priced with the over as the underdog. Mahomes begins the season as a turnover regression candidate against a strong defense.
Last year, Mahomes tossed 11 interceptions against 20 turnover-worthy plays, per PFF.
One of his worst performances came against the Broncos. Mahomes registered three turnover-worthy plays against the Broncos along with one interception.
Only one other game – Week 3 against the Giants – saw Mahomes register more turnover-worthy plays. Both teams share a common trait: an elite pass rush.
Denver’s edge strength should continue on Monday against the Chiefs. Even with Jonathan Cooper unavailable, Denver gets an undrafted rookie (Kahlil Benson) at left tackle.
That assignment assumes Josh Simmons fails to overcome an injury in time for MNF. Benson would then start at LT while Jaylon Moore would move to right tackle.
It could lead to pressure on Mahomes from the edges. Additionally, Mahomes will start the game without game time in the 2026 preseason.
That’s concerning for a player who threw at least one pick eight times in 14 games last season. Paired with the potential regression, I expect him to throw an INT at a higher rate than these odds suggest.
Jaylen Waddle Over 55.5 Receiving Yards (-115)
Waddle gets a favorable matchup in his first game with the Broncos. If there’s a weakness on Kansas City’s defense, it’s almost certainly the corner room.
Rookie Mansoor Delane likely starts immediately. L’Jarius Sneed is questionable for the game. If he misses the contest, Nohl Williams – a 2025 third-round pick – will start instead.
Other starters Chamarri Conner and Alohi Gilman are questionable as well. If that weren’t enough, bettors have seen the Denver offense succeed against the Chiefs defense.
When these teams met last year in Denver, Bo Nix threw for 295 yards. He produced a better yardage output only four times last season.
Of course, he also managed only 182 yards in Week 17. However, the line closed Denver -13.5 against Chris Oladokun in a low-scoring game.
Now for Waddle. The key to this matchup is his performance against zone coverage and two-high schemes. Kansas City runs both at near league-high rates.
Last season in Miami, Waddle ranked 11th in yards per route run vs. zone coverage amongst all NFL pass catchers. Against two-high coverage, he ranked 20th across the entire NFL.
Given those factors, I predict Waddle enjoys success in his Broncos debut on Monday.
