Darnold was drafted No. 3 overall in the 2018 NFL Draft. Overall, he started 38 games for the Jets, going 13-25. Following the 2020 season, he was traded to the Panthers in exchange for a 2021 sixth-round pick and second- and fourth-round picks in 2022
Panthers (2021-22)
In two years in Carolina, he started 17 games, going 8-9. In 2022, he lost the starting competition to Baker Mayfield but started six games late in the season. Following the season, he became a free agent.
49ers (2023)
Darnold served as Brock Purdy’s backup, starting one game. He only signed a one-year contract, so he was a free agent after the season.
Vikings (2024)
Darnold signed a one-year deal with Minnesota and led them to a 14-3 record, but fell in the divisional round to the Rams.
Seahawks (2025-present)
Darnold signed a three-year, $100 million contract with Seattle. In his first season, he led them to a 14-3 record and the No. 1 seed in the NFC.
