After several media responsibilities in 2024, it appears Bill Belichick wants to get back into coaching in 2025.ย

At 72 years old, itโ€™s unclear what teams will be interested in him, but there will be several openings in the NFL, and donโ€™t rule out him potentially coaching in college.

5 Potential Landing Spots For Bill Belichick

Jacksonville Jaguars

Doug Pederson is still the Jaguars’ coach, but it appears unlikely he will be back in 2025.

Belichick seems to have a good relationship with owner Shahid Khan, and itโ€™s possible he could give the long-time coach full control of the organization. This is something Belichick has always had, but most teams would likely be hesitant to do so.

The Jaguars’ roster includes several talented players, led by quarterback Trevor Lawrence. They have a chance to contend in the AFC South next year.

Dallas Cowboys

No one really knows what the Cowboys will do with Mike McCarthy, and it may depend on how they finish the season.

But, if Jerry Jones does move on from McCarthy, he will likely want to make a splash with his next hire, and that could be Belichick.

With a talented roster, the job would be attractive to Belichick, but would he want Jerry and Stephen Jones controlling the roster?

New York Giants

Belichick has always admired the Giants franchise, serving as an assistant coach from 1979-90, and itโ€™s possible they will replace Brian Daboll after the year.

The Giants’ issue is that their roster has many holes, and it may be years before they are a contender again. That might hinder Belichick from being interested in the job and also the Giants from being interested in him.

One scenario to consider is that Aaron Rodgers, whom Belichick has always loved, could become a free agent. Perhaps Belichick could join the Giants and lure Rodgers as his quarterback.ย

Chicago Bears

The Bears might be the most attractive opening in the NFL this offseason, given their talented roster and No. 1 pick quarterback Caleb Williams.

But would the Bears want him and trust him to develop Williams?

This appears unlikely, but it needs to be mentioned, given how attractive the job is.

University of North Carolina

This at least has to be mentioned as Belichick reportedly interviewed for the job in early December.ย

It seems highly unlikely he would want to coach in the college game, and UNC would want him, but it is worth noting Belichickโ€™s dad coached running backs at the school in the mid-1950s, so there is some connection.ย

If Belichick is desperate to coach in 2025 and no NFL teams want him, the college game could be an option.
