  • The Chiefs are predicted to be a 13.5-point home underdog against the Broncos.
  • The Chiefs have won each of their last nine home games against the Broncos.
  • My Chiefs vs Broncos prediction is for the Broncos (-12.5) to cover the spread.

After a bad road loss to the Titans, the Chiefs will return home to face the Broncos on Christmas.

A week after losing Patrick Mahomes to a torn ACL, Kansas City lost 26-9 in Nashville. It marks the third straight loss for the Chiefs, who also lost Gardner Minshew to an ACL tear.

Denver lost 34-20 to the Jaguars on Sunday, their first home defeat of the season. Entering Week 17, the Broncos hold a one-game advantage over the Chargers in the AFC West.

Chiefs vs. Broncos Prediction

Based on Kansas City’s offensive injuries and Denver’s defensive prowess, my Chiefs vs Broncos prediction is the Denver Broncos Spread (-12.5, -110).

As much as I’d like to buy the Chiefs off a bad loss, I don’t know how the offense moves the ball.

The only way Kansas City has a chance here is to run the ball effectively. That didn’t happen when these teams met in Denver.

Kansas City rushed for only 62 yards with Isiah Pacheco out. Currently, the offense is down multiple offensive linemen and rushed for only 3.4 yards per attempt against Tennessee.

Denver, very oddly, lost 34-20 on Sunday despite a 6.8-5.1 yards per play advantage. Penalties significantly aided the Jaguars’ offense, which managed only three rush yards per attempt.

For Denver, this game reminds me of Week 4’s contest against Cincinnati.

Of course, that contest saw Denver operate on extended rest, whereas this game offers a short week road game.

But the Bengals sent out Jake Browning and managed nine first downs. Denver’s offense thrived and managed a 28-3 win at home.

Maybe you get a better effort from the Chiefs defense in this game. But the fact remains, Steve Spagnuolo’s unit faced 70 plays in Nashville and allowed 5.4 yards per play.

If the Chiefs offense fails to sustain drives, it puts repeated pressure on a tired defense. That advantage should help Denver’s improving offense score enough to cover.

With that in mind, it’s the Broncos or nothing on Thursday at Arrowhead Stadium.
