The Eagles possess minimal cap room for free agency in 2026.

As of March 3, general manager Howie Roseman leads a team with $12.6 million in cap space.

In terms of effective cap space – the amount available after signing 51 players and its rookie class – Philadelphia’s figure drops to $7.5 million.

A potential A.J. Brown trade would further complicate that figure. If the Eagles trade Brown before June 1, the team would lose over $20 million in cap space for this season.

Eagles Free Agents 2026: 2 Key Defenders Hit Market

Most of Philadelphia’s free agents come from Vic Fangio’s defense.

Safety Reed Blankenship is set to hit the market following the expiration of his rookie contract. Additionally, 2025 trade deadline acquisition Jaelan Phillips enters free agency.

Only one other player who played at least 70% of 2025 snaps is hitting free agency. Tight end Dallas Goedert is available, with the Eagles unlikely to retain the 31-year-old.

Fringe personnel available in free agency include swing lineman Fred Johnson, wide receiver Jahan Dotson, linebacker Nakobe Dean and corner Adoree’ Jackson.

Per PFF, Blankenship and Jackson finished as the worst Eagles defenders amongst players who played at least 50% of snaps last season.

Blankenship’s performance notably came after three productive seasons. After recording three straight PFF ratings above 73, his rating dropped to 46.5 in 2025.
