  • The Eagles are a 7.5-point home favorite against the Jaguars.
  • The Jaguars have lost each of their last 13 road games following a home loss.
  • My Eagles vs. Jaguars prediction is to tease the Eagles down to -1.5.

The Eagles, off a win as road dogs in Cincinnati, return home to face Doug Pederson and the Jaguars.ย

Coming out of its bye week, the Eagles have captured three straight wins to move to 5-2. In addition to a win over the Bengals last week, Philly owns wins over the Browns and Giants.ย

Recently, the Jaguars have started to find their form. After starting 0-4, Jacksonville is 2-2 in its last four. However, Jacksonville has yet to win as an underdog this year.ย

Eagles vs. Jaguars Prediction

Based on the Jaguarsโ€™ injuries and weak record as an underdog, my Eagles vs. Jaguars prediction is to tease Philadelphia from -7.5 to -1.5.ย

Thereโ€™s a possibility Jacksonville operates without a number of skill players.ย

Running backs Travis Etienne and Tank Bigsby were both limited in practice on Wednesday, along with wide receiver Brian Thomas Jr.ย

Christian Kirkโ€™s absence in practice leads me to believe he wonโ€™t play. Additionally, offensive linemen Ezra Cleveland and Brandon Scherff could also miss out.ย

If those absences come to fruition, it should severely limit Jacksonvilleโ€™s ability to score on Philadelphia.ย

Even if they do return, Philadelphiaโ€™s offense has improved dramatically since the bye week.ย

In Weeks 1-4, the Eagles ranked 28th in defensive EPA per play and 20th in defensive success rate. Since Week 6, Vic Fangioโ€™s defense ranks second and first.ย

While some of that can be attributed to the level of competition, last week signaled a clear improvement. Against a strong Bengals offense, Philadelphia allowed only 4.8 yards per play.ย

In terms of the Eagles offense, this is quietly a good matchup for their passing game.ย

Philadelphia, generally thought of as a run-first team, ranks 11th in dropback EPA per play this year, per rbsdm.com.ย

On Sunday, they get a Jaguars pass defense 32nd in the corresponding defensive category.ย

Additionally, the Eagles are 4-0 SU this year with A.J. Brown in the lineup.ย

Pair that with the fact Jacksonville sits 0-5 SU as a market underdog this year and Iโ€™ll tease the Eagles down from -7.5 to -1.5.ย
