Through the early goings of free agency, 49ers receiver Jauan Jennings remains unsigned.

Jennings posted strong campaigns in each of his previous two seasons. In 2024, he caught 77 balls on 113 targets with six touchdowns.

Last season, Jennings fell off in receptions and targets. However, he posted a career high in touchdowns with nine despite a career-worst yards per target.

Jauan Jennings Contract: Predicting Jennings’ Free Agency Deal

By waiting this long, Jennings appears primed for a one-year deal.

Market skepticism of Jennings’ viability as a true WR1 appears to drive his early lack of interest. Comparatively, Romeo Doubs, Wan’Dale Robinson and Christian Kirk already signed contracts.

Jennings, currently 29 years old, is likely to see a raise from his previous APY. His most recent 49ers contract averaged a $5.95 million APY.

Teammate Kendrick Bourne, two years older than Jennings, received a two-year deal worth $10 million with the Arizona Cardinals. At age 30, Christian Kirk received a $6 million AAV deal.

My guess is Jennings’ contract comes in around $6.5-7 million on a one-year contract.

Jauan Jennings Next Team Predictions

I like a potential fit for Jennings with the Baltimore Ravens. The Ravens, even after adding Trey Hendrickson, still have cap space left to spend.

The team is set at running back with Derrick Henry, but the offense lacks quality at wide receiver. Zay Flowers offers a reliable option, but he primarily operates as a slot receiver.

Jennings could offer a superior alternative to Devontez Walker and Rashod Bateman at outside receiver.

Another possibility for Jennings is the Indianapolis Colts. The team moved on from Michael Pittman Jr. and still needs an outside wide receiver.

That way, the Colts offense could still play Josh Downs as a slot receiver. As of March 17, Indianapolis still has $37.6 million in cap space.

On a one-year deal, Jennings could help the Colts offense try to maintain its quality from last season.
