Tanner Engstrand is the Jets’ offensive coordinator in 2025.
Engstrand leaves Detroit along with Aaron Glenn, now the Jets’ coach. The 43-year-old spent five years with the Lions:
- 2020: Off. Assistant
- 2021: Off. Quality Control
- 2022-24: Pass Game Coordinator & TE’s Coach
Engstrand worked in the NCAA and XFL before Detroit. He spent 13 years at San Diego to begin his career:
- 2005-06: Grad Asst.
- 2007-10: Pass Game/QB’s/RB’s
- 2011-12: OC/QB’s Coach
- 2013-17: OC/Asst. HC/QB’s Coach
After San Diego, Engstrand joined Michigan. There, he spent a year under Jim Harbaugh as an off. analyst.
Then, Engstrand headed to the XFL. For two years, he served as the DC Defenders’ OC.
Engstrand faces a big task as Jets OC. Not since 2015 has New York ranked 19th or better in points per game.
