The New England Patriots will continue building on their 2025 AFC championship with their 2026 NFL Draft picks.

But for a team that played in the Super Bowl last year, the Patriots still have quite a few real needs. That’s led to quite a bit of speculation on where the Patriots will begin spending their draft capital.

BetMGM’s NFL betting odds suggest there’s a clear top answer.

Most Likely Position of the Patriots’ 2026 First-Round Pick

According to BetMGM’s 2026 NFL Draft odds, the Patriots’ first draft pick is most likely to be either a defensive lineman or an edge rusher.

BetMGM prices the likelihood of this at -110, meaning it’s more likely than not (52.4%) that the Patriots opt to fix their pressure issues first.

New England Patriots Draft Needs

EDGE is far from the only thing the Patriots need this year. The wide receiver room is in desperate need of attention, especially following Stefon Diggs’ release last month. And with a young quarterback in Drake Maye, the need for effective protection on the offensive line is always paramount.

The current market for the Patriots is strongly tilted toward drafting that defensive lineman or edge rusher. If you think New England could go in a different direction, there’s a reasonably good financial incentive to get involved with a bet.
