There’s a vocal group of NFL analysts who love Alabama quarterback Ty Simpson.
Indiana quarterback Fernando Mendoza is a virtual lock to go No. 1 overall in the 2026 NFL Draft.
After Mendoza is selected, the focus will quickly move to who the next quarterback off the board will be, and when the pick will be launched.
Most Likely Team to Draft Ty Simpson
According to BetMGM’s 2026 NFL Draft odds, the Cardinals are the most likely team to draft Ty Simpson.
The Cardinals are currently +120 as a destination for Simpson. That carries an implied probability of 45.5%.
Arizona currently has the third and 34th picks in this draft, and it’s unlikely that Simpson would be taken at No. 3 overall. He’s currently 25-to-1 to be taken with the No. 3 pick. (Those are not strong odds.)
The more likely scenario is that Arizona trades down, then uses one of its new picks to take Simpson further down in the draft.
Alternatively, the Cardinals could take an edge rusher at No. 3 and draft Simpson at No. 34, if he’s still there. They could also use the No. 34 pick as trade capital to move up into the late first round and snag him there.
