NFL Playoff Favorites

The Buccaneers, with Tom Brady back behind center, have the leading odds to make the NFL playoffs at -600 as of Friday, Aug. 19. In an NFC South division that includes the Carolina Panthers and Atlanta Falcons, the Bucs seem to be in a good place to at least make the postseason.

The Bills, who are the Super Bowl odds favorites at +600, have the second-best playoff odds at -550. The Bills may be in a tougher division than the Bucs, as both the Patriots and Dolphins are aiming to continue making strides with young quarterbacks, but the Bills should still have enough talent to make it.

The Packers are third in NFL playoff odds at -450. While their receiving corps isn’t what it was in 2021, Aaron Rodgers is still an elite quarterback who can carry this team to the postseason.

Interestingly, five teams are favored to reach the playoffs which didn’t in 2021. That includes the Colts (-190), Ravens (-165), Chargers (-160), Broncos (-140) and Vikings (-115).

NFL Playoff Dark Horses

The Patriots have NFL playoff odds of +135. While Mac Jones may not deserve to be among the NFL’s Top 100, he still was good enough for them to make the playoffs last year at 10-7.

The Raiders traded for former Packers star wideout Davante Adams and acquired edge rusher Chandler Jones this offseason. Their odds of making the NFL playoffs are +180, and while they are in a tough AFC West, they still have the capability of reaching the postseason.

The Lions’ odds of making the playoffs at +350 are also interesting. The hype around them may be higher than called for because of “Hard Knocks,” but they still seem to be compiling a winning roster.
