  • The Packers have $49.1 million in salary cap space this offseason.
  • As of Feb. 26, only 12 teams have more salary cap space than Green Bay.
  • This offseason, positional targets include cornerback.

Based on Packers odds, Green Bay finds itself amidst the lowest prices to win Super Bowl 60.ย

This offseason, Green Bay owns ample cap space in the hopes of securing their first Super Bowl win since 2011.ย

As of Feb. 26, Green Bay owns $49.1 million in cap space and just over $46 million in effective salary cap space.ย

They also donโ€™t see many key players enter free agency as only two players that played more than 60% of snaps last season are unrestricted free agents.ย

Packers Cap Space: Free Agent Position Targets

For Green Bay, the priority this offseason falls on the defensive side.ย

Thatโ€™s not to say Green Bayโ€™s defense played poorly last season. In fact, the Packers ranked seventh in defensive DVOA against the 21st-hardest strength of schedule.ย

For reference, the offense ranked fourth in DVOA against the second-hardest set of defenses, per ftnfantasy.com.ย

In terms of defensive breakdown, Green Bay played slightly worse against the pass last year. Jeff Hafleyโ€™s defense ranked ninth in pass DVOA compared to seventh in rush DVOA.ย

As a result, Green Bay could elect to further strengthen their secondary or attempt to sign a new member to the front seven. In that instance, it takes some pressure off the pass coverage.ย

D.J. Reed

Outside of Jaire Alexander, Green Bay lacks another top-tier cornerback.ย

Reed could prove the complimentary piece for Alexander after a strong season with the Jets.ย

Per PFF, Reed posted a 70.1 coverage grade with New York last season. That marks a big improvement over Green Bay corners Eric Stokes (62.4) and Keisean Nixon (60.7).ย

Between Alexander, Reed and last yearโ€™s signing Xavier McKinney, Green Bayโ€™s passing defense could take a leap in 2025.
