  • The Rams are predicted to be +7.5-point underdogs against the 49ers.
  • Matthew Stafford is 1-6 SU in his last seven starts against San Francisco.
  • My prediction for Rams vs. 49ers is a Jordan Mason player prop.

Kyle Shanahan will look to extend his positive record against the Rams on Sunday as the 49ers head to Los Angeles for a divisional matchup.

The Rams have started the season 0-2 and find themselves amidst an injury crisis. Both Cooper Kupp and Puka Nacua are lost for this game as are a number of offensive linemen.

That makes Los Angeles sizable underdogs against the 49ers, who fell to the Vikings in Week 2.

With Kyle Shanahan, San Francisco is 10-4 SU against Los Angeles, including 9-0 behind either Brock Purdy or Jimmy Garappolo.

Here’s a look at the NFL betting lines and my Rams vs. 49ers prediction

Rams vs. 49ers Odds

  • Los Angeles Rams Moneyline: +280
  • San Francisco 49ers Moneyline: -350
  • Game Spread: San Francisco 49ers -7.5 (-105)
  • Game Over/Under: 44.5 Points

Rams vs. 49ers Prediction, Week 3

My Rams vs. 49ers prediction is Jordan Mason Over 87.5 Rushing Yards (-115)

San Francisco won’t have either Christian McCaffrey or Deebo Samuel on Sunday, but I trust they can run the ball behind Trent Williams and a strong offensive line.

Per PFF, San Francisco ranks fifth in run-blocking grades and 11th in their rushing grades.

Those ranks have allowed Mason to rush for 100 yards in two straight games.

While I’d love to sell high on Mason, this isn’t the spot.

Through two games, the Rams are 30th in rush EPA per play allowed and 31st in rush success rate.

When these sides met in Week 2 last year, the Rams allowed 159 yards on the ground to San Francisco, including 116 to McCaffrey.

Add in Los Angeles has allowed opposing lead backs to clear 90 yards in both games this year and I’ll take Mason over rushing yards.
