Through Super Bowl LIX, defenses have combined for 27 touchdowns in the big game.

That record includes two over the last three matchups. Last year, Eagles cornerback Cooper DeJean intercepted Patrick Mahomes and ran it back for a touchdown.

Kansas City benefitted from a defensive touchdown in 2023. Linebacker Nick Bolton recorded a fumble recovery for a touchdown in Super Bowl LVII.

Famously, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers scored three defensive touchdowns on their own in Super Bowl XXXVII.

Dwight Smith notched a pair of defensive touchdowns while Derrick Brooks added a third. Tampa Bay beat the Raiders 48-21 as the defense forced five turnovers.

Bucs safety Dexter Jackson, despite failing to score a touchdown, won Super Bowl MVP thanks to two interceptions.

The longest defensive score belongs to Steelers linebacker James Harrison. In Super Bowl XLIII, Harrison returned an interception 100 yards to cap off the first half.
