As we wait for the start of the 2026-27 season, now’s a good time to take a look at the historical standings for all 32 NHL teams.

The league keeps track of how well each team has performed historically by looking at its all-time point percentages.

I still think we’d be able to add an amazing gimmick to NHL stadiums by displaying each team’s all-time ranking on their home rink jumbotron and having it adjust after each game. Wouldn’t that make for an exciting spectacle?

We could also have Gary Bettman manually adjust the all-time rankings in Times Square or some place after each season’s over. I would watch, and I’m sure dozens more would too.

Here’s where all 32 teams currently stand in the all-time point percentage rankings following the 2025-26 season.

Golden Knights

The Golden Knights have the league’s best all-time point percentage through the 701 games they’ve played.

Maybe it’s kind of cheating for one of the league’s newest franchises to be recognized as its winningest. But you can’t argue with what Vegas has done since its introduction to the league in 2017.

Since 2017, the team has appeared in three Stanley Cup Finals and has made the playoffs eight out of their nine years of existence.

Many NHL franchises, some of whom had a head start that lasted decades, haven’t appeared in as many Finals as the Knights have. Columbus and Minnesota have been around for 25 years, and neither one has made the Finals.

Their all-time franchise leader in points is Jonathan Marchessault, who was selected by Vegas in their 2017 Expansion Draft. Marchessault played seven seasons for the Knights and earned the Conn Smythe Trophy in 2023. He signed with the Nashville Predators in the summer of 2024.
